How to Get Gems in Command An Army (Free Methods)

Gems are the only currency you spend on units in Command An Army: 50 Gems for one summon, 500 for ten, and 50 to change your class. Here is every way to earn them, fastest first.

1. Codes: 3,200 Gems

Five codes are active right now: SORRY (1,000), OPTIMIZE (700), CONQUER (500), WAR (500) and RELEASE (500). Redeem them from the Code button on the right side of the screen after the tutorial. That is 64 summons before you have played a match. The codes page is rechecked after every update, and two more codes (SHIELDBREAKER and 10KGoal) are waiting on a second source.

2. Match rewards

Every match pays out on the results screen. In Jeffman’s early matches a victory paid 150 Gems, and a loss where he still took MVP paid 67. Payouts depend on how the match went and how long it ran, so treat those as examples, not fixed rates.

Winning is about objectives. Attackers get paid for taking Capture Point A, Point B and the base; defenders for holding them. Our attack and defense guide explains how to win more of them.

3. Daily and weekly quests

The quest panel on the right of the lobby has daily and weekly quests. They pay Gems and XP, and the XP raises your account level and your star limit. One weekly quest asks you to defeat 500 enemies, which you will finish just by playing.

A tip from IQ333: quests such as deploying units or capturing objectives go much faster in a quiet server. Pick a server with few players from the game’s server list and clear those quests there.

4. Deleting spare units

Deleting a unit gives a small Gem refund. Rexon cleared a batch of spare low-star copies and got 750 Gems back. Only do this with units you have already taken to Ascension 3 or will never use, because two copies of a unit can be merged for free through Ascension and made permanently stronger.

5. Robux

Gem packs and a starter pack are sold for Robux, along with a 100 Robux option to skip the spin animation. The skip does not change what you pull. Luck Potions (timed boosts to summon odds) also exist, but how they are obtained has not been shown clearly yet.

How to spend Gems

  • Summons first. 500 Gems for ten pulls is exactly the price of ten singles, so there is no bulk discount to wait for.
  • Avoid class changes. Each switch costs a summon. Try classes in a match before committing.
  • Mind the pity. The Standard Banner has a 4-star pity counter (one player reported it at 342/400). Keep pulling on the same banner once the counter is high. The summons page has the odds.
  • Check the star limit before chasing a 4-star. A unit you cannot equip yet is not helping you win matches this week.
